Ready to start a club?
We are looking for parent volunteers to lead a group of students in a club of your choosing. Teach a specialty or something you enjoy OR help another parent volunteer as an assistant.
Clubs are up to you! Parents decide the club! Some ideas include Lego Club, Chess & Checks Club, Running Club, Spanish Club, STEM Club, Garden Club, etc. Only clubs suggested and run by parent volunteers will be created.
Click here to get your club started.
What You Need to Know:
- Clubs will run during two sessions in 2023.
- Session 1 = February 13 thru March 31
- Session 2 = April 17 thru June 9
- All clubs will last 6 weeks within these two session blocks but are not guaranteed to be available during both sessions.
- Clubs will be held for 1 hour, weekly, from 3:45 – 4:45 p.m.
- All clubs must be grade specific, span across 1 or 2 grades.
- Clubs will be on a first come, first served basis limiting clubs to a max number of students. Max number will be determined on number of parent volunteers available for specific club. When applicable, a waiting list will be implemented and additional volunteers will be recruited.
Step 1: Recruiting Parent Volunteer Club Leaders
- All parent volunteers need to have clearances on file with the school district.
- There will be an interview process for all volunteers and not all clubs will be accepted.
- We are going to start small. So, if your club idea is not implemented this year, it does not mean that it will not be picked up next year.
- Interested? Click here to fill out our google form club questionnaire and we will be in touch!
Step 2: Announcing Clubs
- The first round of clubs will start in January or early February.
- Clubs will be announced here and via email on December 9 with forms being returned before the Winter break.
- Parents will be asked to speak to their children regarding clubs and only sign up for those clubs they are truly interested in.
Step 3: Let the Clubs Begin
- Volunteer Club Leader will communicate specific directions with all student attendees & their guardians.
- Teachers will receive communication on which children will be attending specific clubs.
- All clubs will be held at Manoa Elementary.
- Parents are responsible for pick-up. No transportation will be provided.
