Author, Melissa Trempe, will be visiting Manoa on April 16, for three assemblies. She will be talking to our Mustangs about “pursuing their dreams” and presenting her new book, Ladybug Launch: Inspired by a True Story of Chinitas in Space. All grades, including Kindergarten, will partake in an assembly with Melissa.
Ladybug Launch sales have closed. The book is available on Amazon if you are still looking to purchase.
All those that pre-purchased a copy for their child, the signed book will be delivered, along with a special wooden ladybug, to their homeroom on the day of the assembly.
About the Book
Ladybug Launch: Inspired by a True Story of Chinitas in Space by Melissa Trempe & Natalia Ojeda, illustrated by Manuela Montoya
Based on a true story, this out-of-this-world picture book follows the exciting scientific journey of a little girl and tiny ladybug with sky-high aspirations.
Natalia is a chica, an ambitious girl with dreams of becoming a scientist. Luna is a chinita, an adventurous ladybug who dreams of visiting the stars. Neither dream is easy to reach, yet together anything is possible.
Their tale is inspired by a determined group of Chilean high school girls who convinced NASA to send their ladybug experiment to space!
