It’s already time to start thinking about the holidays! Every year during the holiday season, the Manoa PTO sponsors the Holiday Fund. The funds raised from this drive are used to purchase something for the school that benefits all the grades. The item is usually nominated by the teachers and given in their name. This year the teachers and Mr. Hammond have requested the money collected go towards IPads for the students. At this time each class has access to approximately three IPads. Our goal is to double that!
In the past, parents have elected to donate to the Holiday Fund instead of purchasing individual teacher gifts. Manoa PTO is a non-profit organization under IRS Code section 501(c) (3) and is recognized as a Public Charity under section 509 (a) (2). Your donation may be tax deductible and/or eligible for your employer’s matching contribution program.
If you would like to be a part of this year’s Holiday Fund, submit your donation in an envelope marked “Holiday Fund – Manoa PTO”. Please include your family’s name on the envelope. A poster will be presented to Mr. Hammond and hung in the school office with the names of the families who participated in the fund.
Manoa Holiday Spirit Wear Sale featuring our new logo, and some new items, runs through November 30th! Some items can even be personalized. When your order is ready you will be notified and your order will be available for pick up at C&M Sporting Goods in the Manoa Shopping Center.

The Manoa Garden Club is selling the following holiday plants, wreaths and pine roping to raise money for the Manoa Teaching Garden.
Holiday Decorating, Teacher Gifts, Hostess Gifts, Gifts for a neighbor or friend!
Two Ways to Order:
1. Order your goods at the Garden Club table during the Manoa Holiday Fair on November 15th
2. Return order form to your child’s homeroom with cash or check by November 26th (order form on the PTO website)
Items will be available for pickup Dec 4th and Dec 5th after school.
Directories have been delivered but there are still many available. Send in your $10 dues and a directory will be sent home within a day or so with your child. Please put your childs name and homeroom on the envelope with the dues. Thank you for all your support.
Manoa School will be raising money for Autism Speaks. Starting Monday, October 20th, you can buy a Snack-o-Gram for a friend or a teacher and have it delivered to them in the classroom. For just $1.00 you can buy a Snack-o-Gram in homeroom. Just fill out the slip to include the name of the student or teacher and select a snack that will be attached to your message. You can choose to send chips, pretzels, animal crackers, Skittles, or Starburst to the person of your choice. Snack-o-Grams will be delivered on Friday afternoons. The last day to buy Snack-o-grams is Tuesday October 28th. Get your Snack-o-Gram today!
Last year, some of our staff and students at Manoa participated in the “Walk Now for Autism Speaks”. It was a fun day for all involved and we raised money for a great cause! This year we are hoping to go even bigger and stronger and show our Haverford pride! The walk will be held on Sunday, November 2 and would love for you and your family to join us!
