Dear Manoa Families,
It has been my pleasure to serve you as president for the past 2 years. Your children are truly valuable and worth time and effort. As I move on, I know you will have a great team with Ruth Anne and Amy leading as co-presidents. Be sure to jump on at any time since Manoa PTO is always in need of supporters and volunteers; that is what makes the Manoa community so special. Remember it is your commitments to the programs allowing for the events to happen. We are all in this together and our children are only small once. Throughout my time at Manoa, met terrific people, spoke with wonderful teachers and made new friends and for that I am blessed.
Take time to enjoy and relax over the summer with your family until we meet again at HMS, HHS or in a few years when I return to Manoa

Every summer, many students in Haverford Township perform in our Children’s Theater shows and thousands of Havertown residents come to see them through Upper Darby Summer Stage. All of the shows offer an educational and fun activity to do during the summer!
Please check out the season brochure on the PTO website under the Community Events for more information.
WE ARE STILL IN NEED OF FOOD DONATIONS FOR THE 5th GRADE GRADUATION RECEPTION.
The 5th grade, Class of 2014, will be graduating, from Manoa, on Wednesday. The ceremony and reception will take place from 9:00am-11:15am. The ceremony will begin at 9:15 and immediately following will be a reception in the Manoa cafeteria. We are in need of volunteers to bring the food/drinks for the reception. You may drop off the item(s) between 8:00 am – 9:00am in the cafeteria that morning. We appreciate your help in making this day memorable for our graduating 5th graders!
Thank you so much!
June 30 will be the last day to register for Summer Academy classes that begin July 7 and July 14.
Check out the fun learning opportunities we have to offer at Summer Academy Classes. Most classes are for kids ages 10+ but new this year are a literature class for 6&7-year-olds and a yoga class for 6-8. All classes will be held at Haverford Middle School.
Registration for classes offered during the last two weeks (July 21 and 28) will close July 14.
Thanks, in advance, for helping us spread the word.

Yearbooks will all be distributed Thursday. Some homerooms have accidentally received early, we apologize for any confusion. See list of all K-4th orders received on the PTO website under Yearbook on right-hand side.
All 5th graders receive a yearbook. If you sent in an order late, your order may not be on the list yet. There are 30-40 yearbooks that will be sold on a first come basis at $20 yearbook. No late orders will be distributed until after Thursday’s distribution to make sure that all original orders received. Send in late orders with name/homeroom and attention ‘PTO Yearbook Order’.
ALL EVENING PUBLISHING BINDING SESSIONS ARE CANCELED FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR.
During the day this week with a small group of dedicated volunteers we were able to get through more books than we ever could have imagined and will need no further evening binding sessions.
Many, many thanks to everyone’s invaluable service during the many steps in this process.

Last 2013-14 PTO meeting on Thursday, June 5 at 7pm! Please come out to join us to recap the school year and to plan for next year. The agenda is posted on PTO website.
Attention Manoa families! The teaching garden at our school is being featured in this years Haverford Garden Tour on 6/14 from 11-3. In preparation we are having a garden work day this Sunday June 1 from 8-12 noon. Projects include moving some grasses, spreading mulch, light weeding and some painting and sanding. Please consider coming out for an hour just to give a hand. We especially need some strong arms to move the grasses that were dug from the garden.
